  • 4 cups all-purpose flour for the dough
  • ¾ teaspoon salt to season the dough
  • 2 teaspoon active dry yeast helps the dough rise
  • 1 ⅜ cups water room temperature, for dough consistency
  • 3 tablespoon oil for moisture in the dough
  • For the Hot Pocket Filling:
  • 2 breakfast sausage links cooked and chopped
  • 3 eggs divided: 2 scrambled, 1 for egg wash
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • ¼ cup water for the egg wash
  • All-purpose flour for dusting the work surface

Method
 

  1. Once the dough is done rising, roll it out on a floured surface to about ⅛-1/4 inch thickness. prep
  2. Use a pizza cutter to slice the dough into four equal squares. prep
  3. Place the scrambled eggs, chopped sausage, and shredded cheddar cheese in the center of each dough square. assemble
  4. Cut diagonal slits along each side of the dough and fold them over the filling, braiding them to seal the pocket. assemble
