Ingredients
  

  • 3 medium ripe avocados - halved, pitted, scooped
  • 2 tablespoon fresh lime juice - divided
  • ¼ cup red onion - finely diced
  • 1 whole jalapeño pepper - seeded and minced (use half for mild)
  • 2 tablespoon fresh cilantro - chopped
  • 1 clove garlic - minced
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt - more to taste
  • 1opt. whole Roma tomato - seeded and diced
  • 1opt. pinch ground cumin - for earthy depth

Equipment

  • 1 Large mixing bowl (Wide enough to mash avocados comfortably)
  • 1 Fork (For mashing (or potato masher, but fork gives better control)0
  • 1 Sharp knife (For dicing onions and jalapeños0
  • 1 Cutting board (Preferably one safe for citrus (lime juice can stain wood))
  • 1 Small spoon (For scooping avocado flesh)

Method
 

  1. Prepare ingredients (halve avocados, lime, dice onion, mince jalapeño, chop cilantro)

  2. Mash avocados with lime, garlic, and salt
