Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Ground pork - Or turkey beef, or chicken
  • 4 cups Shredded cabbage - Or coleslaw mix
  • 1 cup Shredded carrots - Or matchstick carrots
  • 3 cloves Garlic - Minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh ginger - Grated
  • 4 Green onions - Sliced white and green parts split
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil - For flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil - For cooking
  • 3 tablespoon Soy sauce - Or tamari/coconut aminos
  • 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha - Or chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds - For garnish
  • Black pepper - To taste
  • ¼ cup Chicken broth - Optional helps soften cabbage
  • Optional add-ins - Mushrooms water chestnuts, sprouts

Equipment

  • 1 Large skillet (12-inch or larger, nonstick preferred)
  • 1 Wooden Spoon (Or spatula for stirring)
  • 1 Sharp knife (For prepping garlic, ginger, and veg)
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Mixing bowl (For whisking sauce ingredients)

Method
 

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground pork and cook 5–7 minutes, breaking it apart, until no pink remains.

  2. Push meat to the sides. Add sesame oil in the center, then sauté minced garlic and grated ginger for 30 seconds. Stir to combine.

  3. Add shredded cabbage and carrots. Cook 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender but slightly crisp.

  4. Whisk soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha. Pour into pan and toss to coat everything evenly. Let cook 2–3 more minutes.

  5. Remove from heat. Stir in green onions and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Serve as is, or over rice/cauliflower rice.
