Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts or 2 pounds of chicken breast, depending on size
  • 1 ¾ cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese divided
  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper for seasoning
  • 1 cup creamy Caesar salad dressing ensure it's not vinaigrette-style
  • ½ cup sour cream for creaminess
  • 1 cup Caesar-style croutons or preferred crouton flavor
  • 1 tablespoon butter for greasing and flavor
  • 1 teaspoon salt for seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper for seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley for garnish

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. prep
  2. If the chicken breasts are thick, use a meat tenderizer or a rolling pin to flatten them to an even ¾-1-inch thickness (placing them in a Ziplock bag before pounding is optional). prep
  3. In a small bowl, mix the white pepper with 1 cup of Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts, then place the breasts in the prepared baking dish. prep
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the Caesar dressing and sour cream until smooth. Pour this mixture evenly over the chicken breasts. mix
  5. Sprinkle the remaining ¾ cup of Parmesan cheese evenly on top of the chicken breasts. assemble
  6. Crush the croutons into small crumbs, then melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Mix the croutons with the butter to coat them evenly. assemble
  7. Spread the crouton mixture evenly over the Parmesan cheese on the chicken breasts. assemble
  8. Bake the chicken for 20-30 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F) and the crouton topping is golden brown. If the top gets too dark, loosely cover the dish with foil. bake
  9. Once baked, remove from the oven and allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley before serving. finish
