Ingredients
  

  • 3 Granny Smith apples peeled and diced, about 3 cups / 660g uncut
  • 3 Honey Crisp apples peeled and diced, about 3 cups / 625g uncut
  • ½ cup granulated sugar 110g
  • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • teaspoon salt
  • 1 box yellow cake mix 15.25 oz; you can also use white or spiced cake mix
  • 1 cup butter melted, 2 sticks

Method
 

  1. Peel and dice the apples into medium cubes. Place them evenly in a 9×13 oven-safe dish. prep
  2. Sprinkle the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt over the apples. Toss to coat the apples evenly. Spread them out to fit the dish. prep
  3. Evenly spread the dry cake mix over the apple mixture, covering it completely. assemble
  4. Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, covering as much of it as possible. assemble
  5. Bake in the oven for 45-50 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender. bake
  6. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. finish
